Women’s Institute

Our WI has been alive and well in Hampton Lucy and Charlecote since 1919, and throughout all these years we have kept ahead of the times.

We meet at 7.30 pm on the first Wednesday of each month, excluding August, either in Hampton Lucy Village Hall or Charlecote Village Hall. See our 2017 Programme for details and location.

In addition to the monthly meetings, when our speakers are many and varied, other activities include outings, visits to the theatre and shows, craft days and a Summer Social. One of our main events in 2017 will be the Carousel Supper in July. In April, our 98th Birthday Party will be styled on the 1920s and our speaker’s subject will be “Mind Your Motoring Manners – 1928 Style.” This meeting will be open to members and visitors alike, and will include a 1920’s buffet.

We are already planning for our Centenary Celebrations in 2019 but before that we shall celebrate the Centenary of the founding of Warwickshire Federation of Women’s Institutes.

Our membership stands at 29 and we are always happy to welcome new members. You will be assured of a warm welcome – mothers and daughters are especially welcome. Have a look at our programme, come and join us at one of our meetings and see what we are about. We look forward to meeting you.
